Why a single air pass works for busy school environments
When dealing with viruses, single air pass kill rates are an absolute must.
If a clean air device draws air and then pushes it back into the breathing zone without completely eradicating viruses, it significantly increases the risk of cross contamination.

Improving indoor air quality in the classroom has a major impact on a child’s ability to learn. Some studies demonstrate that improving air quality has an effect comparable to a reduction in class size of 24 pupils to 15.
Research has also shown that ‘drops in attention’ from a buildup of indoor CO2 is similar to that observed when students miss breakfast.

Air pollution has been associated with decelerated cognitive development.
“Children are particularly vulnerable to environmental exposures since they are still under development. Moreover, due to their physiological (e.g. high breathing rates) and behavioural distinctions (e.g. high physical activity), children may receive higher doses of air pollutants than adults. As they spend long time in a shared location such as the school, it is important to ensure a good air quality in this environment for the benefit of the children and public health. Schools are a setting where children are aimed to expand their knowledge and manage behavioural responses, among other skills.”
NOX reduction in educational spaces
Many schools are situated in largely populated areas or have a high volume of vehicles near to schools for pick up and drop off.
NOX refers to oxides of nitrogen such as NO or NO2. These harmful gasses are produced by burning fuel at high temperatures, such as inside car engines.
Filters alone cannot effectively get rid of NOX. Radic8 Viruskiller™ has been tested against NO2 with a neutralising rate of 99.5% and 98.5% for our smaller VK 401.
NOX can have a high concentration in classrooms leading to cardiopulmonary effects, decreased lung function growth in children, respiratory symptoms, emergency room visits for asthma, and intensified allergic responses.
